I’m Alison! Welcome to Thrive Psychotherapy and Wellbeing. I hope you enjoy finding out about me and exploring what I can offer to empower you to discover and be the person you want to be! Or perhaps, you would like to find out if I would be a ‘good fit’ to work with your child or young person in your care, who may be struggling right now.
THRIVE Psychotherapy and Wellbeing
Firstly, to let you know, I am an accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and a qualified teacher with 30 years + experience as a specialist teacher of the deaf, where I have supported and worked closely with young people of all ages and their families.
As a Psychotherapist, I have worked for a number of years at Sheffield University, SAMHS counselling services. I continue to work there on a voluntary basis with clients across a wide range of age, cultures and lived experiences, which I absolutely love.
“I have benefited so much from talking through with you what is in my head… A few situations have come up recently where I have recognised I have handled them so much better…
I don’t feel anxious or chewed about them afterwards…The sessions with you have absolutely got me to this point so I am very grateful for your time, patience and guidance you have been amazing”
I am passionate about the outdoors as it feeds my soul. Along with offering face to face and online therapy. I also offer walk and talk therapy (or sit outside therapy in my wonderful garden/wood!). The choice is yours, with the flexibility of working with what suits you best.
I have a keen interest in seeing and being with clients in a holistic way and I am a qualified Reiki practitioner and a Belief Coding®️facilitator. This may or may not be an aspect you wish to experience or look at but it’s always useful to know what your options are when establishing if a potential therapist is ideal for you and your needs.
Finally and most importantly, I provide a warm and non-judgemental space for you, where you will feel seen, heard and understood without judgement. For therapy to be successful, it is paramount you have a good connection and are able to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. It can be daunting to both find and begin with a new therapist, particularly if it is your first experience accessing therapy. I believe I can offer a place -be it online or face to face - where you will feel safe, supported and encouraged.
My practice is called ‘Thrive Psychotherapy & Wellbeing’ for a good reason. Fully engaging in the therapeutic process can empower you to thrive in both your personal and professional life. As a young person it can enable them to develop understanding, skills and strategies empowering them to thrive and flourish in their personal journey.
